Terms and Conditions
Welcome to Birding Peru Tours. By making a reservation or participating in any of our tours, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the following Terms and Conditions.
1. Reservations
All tour reservations are subject to availability and are confirmed once the required booking information and payment or deposit have been received.
To make a reservation, travelers must provide accurate personal information, including their full name, nationality, passport or identification details when required, contact information, and any other information necessary to organize the tour.
Birding Peru Tours reserves the right to decline or cancel a reservation when the required information or payment has not been provided within the agreed period.
2. Payments
The total cost of each tour will be communicated to the traveler before confirmation.
Depending on the tour and booking conditions, a deposit or full payment may be required to confirm the reservation.
Any additional services, activities, entrance fees, transportation, meals, accommodation, or other expenses not specifically included in the tour description will be the responsibility of the traveler.
3. Cancellations and Refunds
Cancellation policies may vary depending on the tour, accommodation, transportation providers, and other services included in the itinerary.
Any cancellation request must be made in writing.
Refunds, when applicable, will be processed according to the specific cancellation conditions communicated at the time of booking. Certain services may be non-refundable once confirmed or paid to third-party providers.
Birding Peru Tours is not responsible for expenses resulting from a traveler’s failure to participate in a tour, including missed transportation, flights, accommodation, or activities.
4. Changes to the Itinerary
Birding Peru Tours reserves the right to modify the itinerary when necessary for operational, environmental, weather, safety, or other unforeseen circumstances.
For birdwatching tours, sightings of specific bird species cannot be guaranteed. Wildlife is unpredictable, and bird sightings depend on natural conditions, seasonality, habitat, weather, and animal behavior.
Any itinerary changes will be made with the traveler’s safety and overall experience as priorities.
5. Weather and Natural Conditions
Birding and nature tours take place in natural environments and may be affected by rain, strong winds, temperature changes, road conditions, river levels, trail conditions, or other environmental factors.
If weather or natural conditions make an activity unsafe, Birding Peru Tours may modify, postpone, replace, or cancel the activity.
Such decisions will be made by our guides or tour operators based on safety considerations.
6. Wildlife and Birdwatching
Birding Peru Tours promotes responsible and sustainable wildlife observation.
Travelers are expected to respect wildlife, local communities, protected areas, and the natural environment.
Guests must follow the instructions of their guide and avoid disturbing, feeding, touching, chasing, or attempting to attract wildlife inappropriately.
Bird sightings and wildlife encounters are never guaranteed.
7. Traveler Responsibilities
Travelers are responsible for:
- Providing accurate information when making a reservation.
- Arriving at the agreed meeting point on time.
- Following the instructions of the guide and tour staff.
- Respecting local customs, communities, wildlife, and the environment.
- Taking care of their personal belongings.
- Informing Birding Peru Tours in advance of any relevant dietary requirements, allergies, mobility limitations, or other circumstances that may affect participation.
- Carrying the necessary travel documents and personal items required for the tour.
Failure to follow safety instructions or tour guidelines may result in the traveler being excluded from an activity without entitlement to a refund.
8. Personal Belongings
Travelers are responsible for their personal belongings throughout the tour.
Birding Peru Tours is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal items unless the loss or damage is directly caused by proven negligence on the part of the company or its staff.
We recommend keeping valuable items secure and carrying only what is necessary during excursions.
9. Travel Documents
Travelers are responsible for ensuring that they have valid passports, identification documents, visas, permits, vaccinations when required, and any other documentation necessary for their trip.
Birding Peru Tours is not responsible for problems arising from missing, expired, or incorrect travel documents.
10. Health, Fitness, and Travel Insurance
Some birdwatching and nature tours may involve walking, hiking, uneven terrain, altitude, long periods outdoors, early departures, boat transportation, or other physical activities.
Travelers are responsible for determining whether they are physically and medically able to participate in the selected tour.
We strongly recommend that all travelers obtain appropriate travel insurance covering medical expenses, accidents, trip cancellation, baggage, and other unforeseen circumstances.
11. Guides and Transportation
Tours may be operated by Birding Peru Tours or by trusted local partners and service providers.
Transportation, guiding services, accommodation, meals, and other components may be provided by independent suppliers.
Birding Peru Tours will make reasonable efforts to work with reliable providers and maintain the quality of the services offered.
12. Delays and Unforeseen Circumstances
Birding Peru Tours shall not be held responsible for delays, cancellations, interruptions, or additional expenses caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, natural disasters, road closures, strikes, government restrictions, civil disturbances, transportation disruptions, or other unforeseen events.
We will make reasonable efforts to assist travelers and find appropriate alternatives whenever possible.
